Here are a number of pictures taken yesterday of Margaretville. Unfortunately, even the pictures can't really portray the full sense or magnitude of destruction. For instance, the buildings on Main Street do not look all that bad but a number of them are in such bad structural condition that they have been condemned and people are not allowed to live inside them.

Financially the church is hemorrhaging right now due to the cost of the destruction and the work being done. The relief effort is now one week old and people are still trying to acquire the basics of food and water. Many are still without power and can't get out of their homes. I just received  an email from Dee Iommi this morning telling me that she just got her power back on and she apologized for not attending our latest School of Ministry class. I told her that we haven't had class because the world is still upside down for most people at this time.

Yesterday, Mom and I continued sorting contributions so they can be stocked in the CAP store and people can come in. People are asked to contribute but EVERYONE is given whatever they need regardless of cost. Most people are receiving food, water, supplies for free. For us, it is not about anything other than giving people what they need to get their lives going again. Collin was busy doing a little bit of everything yesterday. One of the things he did was to help Chris Cleveland and others from Community Gospel Church in Oneonta dig mud out of some one's garage.

I understand that the governor has been back around in our area. I do not know if this is true; however, I was told that

While the Christian school was supposed to start this week, it will now begin next week some some of the grades meeting at the Engelhardt's home and others meeting at the Barto's home. This is how life is getting on for CMCA. Meanwhile, Mrs. Engelhardt's mother passed away last week and the funeral is later this week. So, lots of stuff and life continue to go on. Please continue to pray for us, spread the word of this catastrophe so that others would know and be able to contribute.

Otherwise hope both of you are well. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are when you can.

Love, Dad
