New Beginnings...

New beginnings are both wonderful and a little scary at the same time. Yet God wants us to grow and has  new adventures for us. Since we are in His hands and He determines our steps we are safe and secure, though we may not always feel that way. But because we don't trust in our situations or circumstances we are not bound by them. Proverbs 3:5-6 says: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.

Many people fail to grow because they don't embrace the new season God has for them. The key here is to discern His will through prayer and intimacy by time spent in His presence with thanksgiving and praise. As we do this we transcend our situations and allow Him to take the helm of our lives and to lead us to new vistas. Don't worry, I don't think that you are having any trouble embracing your new situation. Rather, I think your are eager for it. What I want to assure you is that God is eager for it too! He is in it and He will guide you through it. So, have great faith and confidence.

Now is the time to embrace this new season and jump into it with both feet. You will marvel at how God expands your life, shows you the beauty of the new season, reveals His limitless abilities, as well as the makes known the depths of His love and grace for you.

Nathan, I know you are excited and I am very glad for that, and glad for you. While your whole life has just changed (where you live, the culture and people around you, going from undergrad to grad level studies, etc.) you still have the same parents and the same God. Please don't forget these roots (I don't really think that you will, but I feel better saying it anyway) and know that we love you with all our hearts, and so does your heavenly Father. We are here cheering you on and are very happy to see your life and calling take the next step toward being fulfilled and in bringing glory to your God.

You are in our hearts and prayers...always!

Love, Dad

Proverbs 16:3 - Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
